Fen Round Recycled Glass Vase, Smoked Amber

The round Fen is close to a sphere — 34 cm across, 42 cm to the lip — finished with a short collar of a neck. It is the piece in the range that looks most deliberate standing empty, because the shape is the point and flowers mostly get in the way of it.

Smoked amber is the warmest colour we make: nutty brown, close to honey with light behind it, close to black without. The wide belly means it holds a surprising amount of water and gets heavy quickly, so fill it where it is going to stand. Colour runs through the glass rather than sitting on it, and the water line shows through the tint.
