Product care and safety

General guidance for the Christmas range. The instructions in each pack come first. Where they differ from this page, follow the pack.

Lights and electrical items

Use the cable or control box supplied with the product, and follow the instructions in the pack. Switch lights and other electrical items off when they are unattended.

For outdoor use, follow the weather-use instructions included with the product, and keep plugs and control boxes dry.

Advent calendars and craft kits

The advent calendars and craft kits contain small parts and are not suitable for children under 3. Supervise younger children while they open, build and play.

Fabric items

Follow the care label on the item. If there is no label, spot clean rather than washing the whole piece.

Pet costumes

Use a pet costume under supervision, and take it off if your pet seems uncomfortable. Check that the fit is not tight before you leave it on.

Decorations and storage

After the season, store decorations dry, and flat or loosely coiled, so they are ready for next year.
