Drift Tall Organic Recycled Glass Vase, Rockpool Green

The same undulating hand-formed profile as the wide Drift, pulled into a column: 73 cm high on a 34 cm footprint. It is the tallest piece in the range and the one that most rewards being left empty, because the ripples run the full height and flowers hide them.

Tall and narrow is a real constraint. The base is not wide relative to the height, so it wants a flat, stable surface and is not a good choice for a hallway with a dog or small children in it. Empty it is 16.1 lb; a few inches of water in the bottom will steady it considerably. Rockpool green goes almost grey where the wall is thin and deepens through each ripple, so the column shifts in tone from top to bottom. Colour runs through the glass rather than over it.
