Fen Tall Recycled Glass Vase, Smoked Amber

A tall bottle with a wide, low shoulder that draws up into a long narrow neck and a lightly flared lip. Smoked amber is the warmest colour in the range — a nutty brown that goes almost honey-coloured with the sun behind it and close to black in a dim corner. It is worth deciding which of those you want before you choose a spot for it.

The neck is narrow by design. Three or four stems stand upright in it without a frog or tape; a full market bunch will not go in, and forcing one ruins the line of the thing. Colour is in the glass itself, not a coating, so it will not wear off — but it is translucent, so the water line shows. Keep it topped up or keep it dry.
